OWH Sandy Style Tri-shutter card

The original OWH Sandy style is to keep the last panel as open space so that our heroes can write a message.  For my card for someone who retires at work, I kept the paper as it is as beautiful.

For our heroes, I will save the open space for writing.  I will find the link to OWH Sandy Style tri-shutter card and add it here later.

OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge - Clean & Simple

I like to create my card background on a piece of glossy paper by brushing the colors of my choice directly from my ink pads. At the end all the colors blends into each other smoothly and create this soft look background.

OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #178 - Happy Birthday

This week's sketch is great to use the triple layering technique (just like the triple stamping technique) in different or the same designer series papers.  I did not concern about the exact matching images.

I have been challenging myself to use all those beautiful papers that were donated for me to make more cards for the Troops.  Can't wait to play along but not enough time.  Don't give up!

Challenge OWH Tutorial: The 6x6 template

Hello,

I've been wanting to take a challenge the 6x6 template.  It took me a while to figure out the template. Once I made a mistake, I came up with my color-coded template for myself.  Finally, I made it.  I had to do this before I do other things.

Thanks to Kathryn for taking time to provide the template.

Here is the link to OWH Tutorial: 6×6 Template
Kathryn’s original post can be seen here: Kathryn’s Cards

And this is my color-coded template for myself but I wanted to share.

Processing photos: (I am a visual learner while I need a written instructions.)

For Template #1
  • Cut by the measurements
  • Find the matching pieces

  • Layer the pieces on a cardstock. I used a black cardstock as a layer and then adhered it on to a white cardbase by using dimensionals.  So I had a gap in between to wrap a ribbon around.

For Template #2
  • Cut by the measurements

  • Find the matching pieces
  • Layer the pieces on a cardstock. I used a black cardstock as a layer and then adhered it on to a white cardbase by using dimensionals. So I had a gap in between to wrap a ribbon around.

JUST SAYING hello & Thank You card kits for OWH

On Sunday,  June 23, 2013, we are going to have our monthly OWH Cardmaking Party at Susan's place.  As usual I've been making card kits since last month's party and these two are the latest.  I love the papers. I couldn't stop playing with them. I added blings on my cards and they look nicer.  Entering the Paper Players Challenge #150 - Bring on the Bling

Just Because card kits for OWH & challenges to enter

I designed my card based on this week's Freshly Made Sketches 91.

I made 10 card kits out of one sheet of 12x12 designer series paper by the measurement shown below.

This is side view of this card to show the blings on my card better for the Paper Players challenge 150.

OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #177 - Your smile makes the day brighter!

Please find out my previous post about the 12x12 One Sheet Wonder template and step-by-step cutting tutorial. Measurements for this sketch, I reduced 1/4" overall since I was going to layer designer series papers on colored cardstock sized 4"x5-1/4".  My cardbase is heavy white cardstock.

I am working on some more of card kits for OWH Cardmaking Party on Sunday, June 23, 2013 and this group of cards will be the sample cards.
