Today, I had an OWH Cardmaking Day at Elk Grove Grocery Outlet for the third time. It was a great fun day.  Thanks to Cynthia, Donna (Janet's sister), Janet Q., Janet S., Joanie, Kathy, Mable and Jordan for making cards for our heroes with me today.  Jordan (Kathy's grandson)  helped me the Cuttlebug embossing for the background of snowman cards and missing you dog cards.

I am hosting an OWH Birthday Bash Cardmaking Party on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Elk Grove Grocery Outlet from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m..  With my regular group of cardmakers, some of new experienced cardmakers will join in me making cards for our heroes.  I am so excited about it.

OWH S&S Midweek Throwdown - Recipe Challenge

This week's challenge is a recipe challenge to make a card using a die cut or punch, ribbon and heat or dry embossing!

I started making this card as a sample card for my voluntary cardmakers for OWH Cardmaking Party on this Sunday, August 29th at Elk Grove Grocery Outlet Conference Room.

First I didn't really understand the term Recipe Challenge.  Maybe I am not qualified for this challenge because I didn't add a ribbon or embossing on this card.  I used small circle punch for matching circles to the design of patterned paper though.  I am not quite happy how the color of Ciara's body part turned out that didn't blend well.  Well.... next time I will do better.  My card base is SU's Concord Crush although it looks like almost black in the photo.  I sponged the edges witht the same color ink.

The Ciara digital image and the sentiment are drawn by Sandy just for OWH.  You can find it HERE.

UPDATE:  I mane another one to be qualified for this challenge.  I think this one will be a good one, too, for the Cardmaking Party.

Magical Monday - PCC Image & Punch It

This week's challenge is to use the free image provided "Joyful Ride" by Paper Cupcakes and use any type of punch on your project: border, flower, leaves, hearts, etc.  I colored the image by my waterbrush with Stampin' Up Ink.  I used MS butterfly punch and Stampin' Up Oval punches for the sentiment.  I used Clear Star Gelly Roll pen to draw lines of back of the snail although it doesn't show in the photo.

OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #31 - Happy {Howl}oween

I made this card for OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #31. To make the moon image, I cut out a 1.3/4" circle from the scrap paper and used it as a template and sponged it.  I stamped the bat and I sponged the ground as well.  The sentiment and the tree image are from Create with TLC -Season Your Holidays Club.  I am going to make more of this for the last batch of Halloween cards for OWH with my group at work on Tuesday, August 24, 2010.

Here is the sketch.

UPDATE:  This is how I did step by step.  I hope it will give you some ideas.

OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #30

OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #30
I made this card a while ago to enter Karen Howard's challenge during Memorial Day Bloghop.  It is posted as one of sample cards on OWH S&S blog for this week's sketch challenge.  The 'Stars and Stripes Bee' digital image was from Stretch n' Bubbles that was given as a freebie for OWH cardmakers.

Card Maker Paper Party Crop Challenges - BIRTHDAYS

Birthday Ribbon Badge Card
This challenge was to make a birthday ribbon badge with two different types of ribbon.  I made one and put it on to my card.  I stamped dots in three colors to match the patterened paper on the card base. I used the Stampin' Up dotted ribbon border punch.  When the real color riboon is not available, this can be a great tool to create a perfect ribbon with the matching colored card stock.

Ice Cream Bookmark
I simply cut out patterned papers by the template and put them together. I sponged the edges.

Envelope Gift Card Holder
Create a gift cardholder using an envelope.

Party Hat
Make a card that resembles a party hat or a card on which there is a hat.

Over the Hill Birthday Card
Make a card using black, white, and one other color.
This was a great challenge for me. I never thought about making a birthday card in black and white and one other color. My card base is white with a thin border although it doesn't show well in the photo.

Thanks a bunch
