SACRAMENTO SCRAPBOOK EXPO CARD CONTEST

I submitted my two cards for the SACRAMENTO SCRAPBOOK EXPO CARD CONTEST. They said all cards submitted will be donated to the troops to send home to their loved one's - Operation Write Home. Since I was on the way to see what they show this year, I thought I would give it a try. I used the digital patterned images that Anna Aspnes sent to me for this good cause.

Card Making Day at work

I made cards for Heroes with my colleagues at work during lunch time. All the pre-cutting is done for them and six voluntary cardmakers assembled these 27 cards. It was not only making cards for Heroes but also sharing a lot of fun time together.

I made this card for STVPF33(10/2/09) Potluck Friday - Gold, Gold, Gold Challenge this week. The challenge is GOLD!! Just create a project using something gold in it, it can be brads, ribbon, embossing powder, cardstock, to mention just few.

This time I am going to write how I made it and what materials I used. I learned that this help me keep the record for my future reference.

3. Adhered all the papers on the card base.
4. Attached Poinsettie leaves and flower petals using Pop Dots. (These are pre-cut and chalk inked the edges. Scored in the middle and folded a little bit to give a dimentional look.) Attached the Rhinestone in the center.
5. Attached the Gold metal corner punched out.

Happy World Card Making Day!

Happy World Card Making Day!

In order to support today's post on the Operation Write Home, I made this card and found the links for you to check out. I inspired to make this card using buttons with flowers by Alanna. I will make more of this card and send them to our Heroes.

Now, I am going to go participate in the Challenges and spread the words about the Operation Write Home.

Happy Christmas!

These are A9 size cards for Fabre, one of shippers of the Operation Write Home. I am going to mail these out to her today with some Thanksgiving cards that are also A9 size cards.

I have downloaded these images from Crafts on the Net that were shown on their Cards & Crafts for Christmas Volume 3. I printed individual images and cut it out to put them together on my cards. I really love these cute Angels. I am going to make more of these for A2 size cards.

Red Friday: Oct. 2, 2009

I made this card for Operation Write Home's (formerly known as Cards for Heroes) first "Red Friday!" today.

I learned today that each Friday, people across America wear red to demonstrate their support for our nation's heroes. (Check out RedShirtFriday's website for more info!)

I used the digital papers and images that I received from Anna Aspnes who kindly offered me to use her military/patriotic digital images for making cards for Heroes. Thanks to Anna. Thanks so much to Heroes.

I cried after I read the story of little girl - "Will you give this to my Daddy?" - on the OWH Homefront Blog.
